Action Action
Catch your tickets to see one of the hottest new indie bands on the planet- Action Action! Action Action is a band that has brought a whole new flavor into the indie music scene, bringing a proto-goth feel to the indie driven guitars and drums, resulting in a deliciously wicked meld of music reminiscent of Bauhaus and The Bolshoi. With a whirl of synth and wailing guitars, Action Action has made a strong niche for itself on the indie music circuit.
The group was the result of members of a number of different bands coming together- vocalist Mark Thomas Kluepfel was originally part of The Reunion Show, Adam Manning and Clarke Foley were a part of Count the Stars and Dan Leo was a part of Diffuser. Together the members created Action Action, which would transcend the barriers of ordinary indie rock, taking it to a completely different level.
A large majority of the band's work deals with duality- whether it is their musical style which combines eerie synths with guitar driven rock or their lyrics that speak of life and death, love and hate, the band seriously explores a number of facets of modern society, particularly the fascination with drug use and how it is used an artificial replacement to happiness. This is a marked departure from the happier kind of pop that songwriter Kluepfel originally used to churn out with his old band.

Action Action has also experimented with a number of keyboards and pianos on their albums, trying everything from a Wurlitzer electric piano to a Moog to a juno-60. The band was also lucky enough to use a Univox Super Fuzz that was originally used by Pete Townshend. The band has also had a number of worthy collaborators on their albums including members from Taking Back Sunday and Kill Your Idols. Action Action list The Police, Elvis Costello, Depeche Mode and The Cure as their major influences.
