Abigail Washburn has already captured the audience as well as the critics with her mesmerizing voice. She tours extensively and has been invited to places like Sunoco Performance Theatre, Kent State Student Ballroom, Abigail Washburn with The Sparrow Quartet featuring Bela Fleck, Ben Sollee, and Casey Driessen as well as The Southgate House, Beckley, WV. Abigail Washburn is one of the talented American clawhammer banjo player and singer. She was a part of a band known as Uncle Earl, but later left it to start her solo career, although she sometimes with her old-time band Uncle Earl. She has studied in China and can speak Mandarin very well. She has also recorded some songs in that language. Her first solo album was Song of the Traveling Daughter. She has studied in China and has traveled extensively to China to promote her albums.

Artist Biography - Abigail Washburn
|
 From childhood onwards she was very much passionate about music. So when she was once performing in a show in China, she was approached by Uncle Earl and she readily agreed to play with the band. She began her solo career in the year 1992, by releasing her first single "I Feel You" and since then had a steady output of dance music. But it was not that successful and the single went unnoticed. Then she came with her next single "Could It Be Magic", that debuted at number one on Britain's NRG charts. It was so successful that it bought her much critical acclaimed and she was widely recognized for her talents. This boosted her confidence and she started releasing dance covers of popular songs. She started putting out the techno renditions of
"Smells Like Teen Spirit," "Constant Craving," and "Losing My Religion" throughout the first half of the decade. She then released her first album Feel Good, that featured all the originals of her before singles, in the year 1995. It was followed by a remix EP. After that she didn't stay back for rest, she busied herself touring the dance circuit and also releasing a single on Pulse-8 Records. Soon after this, that label folded and since by then she became pregnant, she took he time off to give birth to her first child, Ilana. After that, she joined up with Thunderpuss 2000 for a collaboration that resulted in the "Let the Joy Rise" single and it became one of the most successful hit in her career, in the year 1999. Right after this she released her next popular club anthem, that she wrote with Thunderpuss 2000, "If It Don't Fit," and yet another the following year with "You Set Me Free." All these three songs positioned her as a-club friendly diva.
Her only album, "Song of the Traveling Daughter" till date was released in the year 2005.
