A Rockapella Holiday
A huge fan following was natural after five seasons of Carmen Sandiego. They created two CDs for their fans, 1995's primer and 1996's Lucky Seven. They did a lot of advertising campaigns amongst which 1998 Folgers coffee was a hit. In this campaign the group sang the entire commercial on-camera. It was such a big success that it was followed up with a second spot, this time holiday-themed. Riding the success wave, they released their US album, 'Don't Tell Me You Do' on J-B records.
They released 2, their follow up album in 2000 which became quite popular. Their first album to reach the Billboard chart was,'Christmas', their first domestic holiday album, which was released in 2000. By the end of 2000, 'In Concert' was born, it appeared on video and CD and got airtime on PBS television stations nationwide.
The US albums were released in Japan too with new materials in the album Smilin, and the holiday collection Comfort & Joy. Smilin, heralded a change in the band, legendary bass singer Barry Carl retired and George Baldi joined the group.
After the release of 2004's Live In Japan, Elliott Kerman founding member of the band retired. John K. Brown, joined Rockapella, bringing an exciting new edge to the trademark Rockapella sound. A new chapter has been opened.
