3 Doors Down Tickets for Sale
Brad Arnold, Todd Harrell, and Matt Roberts were a typical local rock trio back in the middle of the nineties. They were touring the major entertainment venues around Escatawpa, Mississippi hoping to someday have a much larger touring radius and millions more fans. Well, these dreams would come true in the 21st century. Now 3 Doors Down tickets take the group around the world and the album draws millions of fans to the stores to purchase albums, to the phones to request the songs, and to the venue to enjoy a live show from the group whose mercurial rise is all due to “Kryptonite”.
The importance of the song Kryptonite cannot be underplayed in understanding and appreciating 3 Doors Down. It began with the expansion from three band members to the rock standard four, with the addition of guitarist Chris Henderson. By the time Henderson had joined, the band had already found its name, a chance moment when they saw a debilitated sign noting “Doors Down” and noting they were three men strong. A Shakespearean beginning this is not, but even the most famous scribe in the world owes some of his success to pure happenstance.
As 3 Doors Down, the group recorded the single “Kryptonite” and found a radio station still willing to play local music. The song dominated the stations for nearly four months. Eventually the song was passed along until it arrived in New York and resulted in a chance to play the famed CBGB night club. Obviously, the set proved a hit and 3 Doors Down has enjoyed an incredible success. The same song that earned them a record contract endeared them to the hard rock audience and drove album sales of The Better Life to 6-time platinum.
The follow up album, Away From the Sun, featured its own anthem, “Here Without You”. 3 Doors Down seems to have been on tour since this second album went quadruple platinum, with an album and song sweeping the nation every three years. Thus, “Let Me Go” and “Citizen/Soldier” have become concert staples and the group has a permanent place on the hard rock touring schedule.
While the band experienced a lot of exposure and fame for the singles on their first album, the follow-up proved to be just as successful. In 2002, "Away from the Sun" was released with the hit single "When I'm Gone". Featuring a video in tribute to American troops, the single's popularity enabled the hit to remain on the charts for almost a year, again garnering multiple format airplay from rock to pop to alternative radio. It also became their second biggest hit to date on rock radio, spending 17 weeks on top of the chart (second only to the band's own "Loser"). "Here Without You" became another multi-format smash while singles "The Road I'm On" and "Away From The Sun" were minor hits. The album went on to sell over 3 million copies. 3 Doors Down released their third studio album on February 8, 2005. The first single "Let Me Go" is already gaining airplay on rock and alternative formats.
