120 Days
120 Days' music appeals to Rock fans ans ravers alike with its dizzying analog synthesizers, drum machines, seething guitar chords and the sharp, screeching vocals of Adne Meisfjord. This is postmodernist European music at its best comprising elements of electronica, good vocals and certain amount of helplessness in their tone.
In the autumn of 2001, under the name of 'The Beautiful People' four 19 year old friends- Jonas Dahl, Arne Kvalvik, Kjetil Ovesen and Adne Meisfjord - rehearsed together for the first time in their home town of Kristiansund, a coastal town in Norway. Problems emerged with their name already being used by some other band. They shifted to Oslo where they could rehearse continuously. The sound of 120 Days was created. They signed up with Public demand Records , a small Oslo label with whom they released their first EP, 'Sedated Times' in 2004 and their second self titled EP within the same year. After the initial success and touring in the country, the band created ripples in the Music industry. This led to their booking at both the Reading Festival and Leeds Festivals in the UK and the Sonar Festival in Spain. People at Vice Records,a New York record label saw their performance and pursued them for a while. However, the boys signed up with fellow Norwegians Smalltown Supersound.
In February 2006, the band produced and recorded their new selftitled album in Oslo's Crystal Canyon studios. In April 2006, the boys along with Jorgen 'Sir Dupermann' Traeen' mixed the new album in Duper Studio, Bergen and in May of 2006. Alan Douches of West Westside Music, New Windsor, NY. Their latest album shows a lot of their musical influences from Kraftwerk to New Order, to alternative rock of the 90's to the lyrical purity of some of the classic bands.
Released in 2006, 'Come Out' and other songs from their latest album' 120 Days' has received a flurry of critical and mass acclaim. C-Musik has been rising the charts in america. 120 Days are now touring in the US with tickets selling out faster thanks to their saving grace of re-tuned electronica, clever lyrics and all round Mass Appeal.
